Verenigma was created for people with ADHD, AuDHD or anyone experiencing emotional regulation issues. These conditions often occur alongside alexithymia - which makes it difficult to identify feelings and contributes to many of the challenges often linked to ADHD and AuDHD, such as trouble managing emotions, feeling overwhelmed, or struggling with social interactions.
Verenigma is an app for affect labelling, helping to identify emotions and improving emotional regulation by 37%.
Emotional clarity drives focus, results in better communication and can reduce fatigue.

Verenigma uses AI to analyse your voice and provide instant results for depression, stress, anxiety and more.
Record your emotions regularly, creating clear and insightful reports. Helping you to track progress and build positive habits.
With heart rate variability and sleep reports, keep track of various metrics that affect your emotional regulation, focus, fatigue and overall mental health.
Verenigma users report various benefits, including a 37% improvement in emotional regulation. Experience better focus, reduced fatigue, and improved well-being.
Emotional regulation is the ability to identify, understand, and manage emotions effectively. For many individuals, particularly those with ADHD and AuDHD, challenges like alexithymia—a difficulty identifying and describing emotions—can significantly impact daily life.
Alexithymia affects more than just how you feel; it creates barriers to effective communication, decision-making, and stress management. When emotions go unrecognised, they can manifest as frustration, fatigue, and strained relationships. This emotional “blindness” leads to misunderstandings with others and an inability to express needs, ultimately increasing stress and reducing focus.
By addressing these challenges, emotional regulation fosters clarity and control. Verenigma’s approach to emotional clarity enables users to:
Identify and Understand Emotions: Using AI to label and track emotions, users learn to connect feelings with identifiable states, breaking the cycle of emotional confusion.
Enhance Focus: Clarity allows the mind to concentrate, freeing users from the distraction of overwhelming or misunderstood feelings.
Reduce Mental and Physical Fatigue: Emotional dysregulation can leave you drained. By managing emotions more effectively, users report feeling less tired and more energised. 56% of users report a decrease in daytime sleepiness, showing how emotional clarity translates into physical well-being.
Improve Communication: Emotional clarity reduces misunderstandings and enhances the ability to express thoughts and feelings, creating stronger relationships.
Affect labeling helps you consciously recognise your actual state despite emotional blindness caused by alexithymia. Verenigma reveals the neuronal patterns of actual stress, anxiety and depression in real time through ML analysis of your voice notes through the day and provides accurate emotional knowledge.
Each affect labeling exercise conducted through visualisation of these aspects diminishes the reactivity of the amygdala and recouples it with the the anterior cingulate cortex responsible for the integration of your affective state. This neuronal reintegration is the basis for the increase of emotional clarity and sustained emotion regulation.
People with ADHD and AuDHD often face emotional regulation challenges that impact their focus and communication. Verenigma bridges the gap, providing tools to improve your emotional clarity and track progress over time.
We interviewed 59 Verenigma users with ADHD from the start of using the app up to 28 days, using the app at least twice per week. The users self reported Emotional Regulation (DERS-16) and Alexithymia (TAS-DIF) scores.
On average, users experienced a significant improvement in both emotional regulation and alexithymia.
Users also experienced a reduction in fatigue (based of ESS and ISI scores), and a reduced intolerance of uncertainty (IoU-S12).
Verenigma provides tools to test emotional regulation and alexithymia in our app. You can also take an alexithymia test on our website.
